John Carter - is the primary instructor for the IICRC approved "Senior Carpet Inspector Course" , and has been in the carpet related industry since 1978. John has also been a practicing inspector since the early 1980's. This extensive industry experience translates into only the highest quality of instruction, which stems from being able to teach from a field experience frame of reference.
John also teaches from the " Inspector perspective", with heavy emphasis on the psychological frame of mind necessary to be a successful Senior Carpet Inspector. Furthermore, John teaches the prospective inspector how to write concise " to the point" inspections for the carpet mill industry. Each day of the Senior Carpet Inspector Course, all students are required to write actual carpet inspection reports based upon a case studies. Mike West - Mr. West is a nationally recognized expert in the Carpet Industry and has performed Carpet, Flooring and Textile Inspections for over 35 years. He is third generation in the Textile Service industry. He began working in his father’s Oriental rug cleaning business at the age of seven. He has continued in the carpet, textile and flooring industry in various capacities, instructing and consulting with government agencies, major manufacturers of fibers, carpet, and cleaning products as well as running his own textile service, retail and inspection businesses.
Some of his Inspection and Consulting clients include Fiber producers: DuPont (Invista), Monsanto (Solutia), Allied (Anso) and manufacturers such as Shaw, Mohawk/Karastan, Royalty, Tuftex, Fabrica, Atlas, Hibernia, Masland, Southwind, Alladin, Stantton/Royal Dutch, Beaulieu and Tarkett as well as architects, designers, retailers and consumers.

David Zack became involved in materials testing beginning in 1983. After 3 years as an Electronics Troubleshooter on a U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier, David accepted a position as a Laboratory Technician for a large military contractor. There he ran in Instron laboratory equipment which tested material strength. Additionally, he tested and evaluated adhesive strength, abrasion resistance and fading properties on various materials.
David began his career in carpeting when he purchased 2 carpet cleaning franchises in Michigan and Nevada. He operated these businesses from 1988 to 2001. In 1991 David attended the Academy of Textiles and Flooring and became a Senior Carpet Inspector. Since then, he has attended numerous seminars training classes and manufacturing facilities. David attended the AFS Color Blending school in 2001. He has performed thousands of corrective services for many manufacturers in the United States and Canada. In addition to the many corrective services performed, David has inspected thousands of claims for manufacturers, retailers, builders and consumers. In 2005, David became a Certified Wood Flooring Inspector for the National Wood Flooring Association. In 2010, David introduced his first book, The Carpet Book-Claims Guide. In 2011, David will be introducing a Hard Surface Claims Guide.
Steve Marsh is the Single Truck Success columnist for Cleanfax magazine. He is a business and marketing consultant for the cleaning industry. Steve is creator of the Be Competition Free™ marketing program, and a Director for the Cleaning and Restoration Association. For 30 years, Steve ran a highly successful, high-end, residential carpet cleaning company in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is certified as a Master Textile Cleaner, Senior Carpet Inspector, and approved IICRC instructor.
